The Photographer

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my web site.

I am actively involved in acquiring images from the natural world, full time. Emphasis has been on subject matter from the high and low latitudes. I'm very pleased with what I've garnished from the Falkland Islands, South Georgia Island and the waters around the Antarctic Peninsula. Additionally, the northern latitudes have also been quite rewarding, the archipeligo of Svalbard in particular. I dare not complain about lack of opportunities with such subjects as polar bears, ivory gulls and walrus readily available! On that trip we got as far north as 81° 45'. Plans for the rest of 2002 include further expansion of image subjects in North Carolina and an exploratory visit to Costa Rica.

Hopefully, I'll have a fresh batch of thumbnails up frequently and the website format may vary some. However, the domain name WayneIrvin.com, unaltered, will be awaiting your next visit. I hope photobuyers, the curious, colleagues and friends will visit this site frequently. I doubt that the site will ever be "finished".

I use HindSight image management software for cataloging and label printing. Every label contains caption information and taxonomic notation. Additionally, each image has a specific category and number unique to it.

I shoot in 35mm and 6X7 cm. formats. Photobuyers are encouraged to inquire by e-mail, telephone or snail mail. Most of the images in my files have been duped in the camera and shot both horizontally and vertically to better fit the needs of buyers.

Don't overlook the section of this site covering "Local News".
